A WOMAN’S STRENGTH
Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and her tongue is the law of kindness. Proverbs 31:25,26
Is it strange that males are attracted to the inconveniently large toys, you know the ones that epitomize what we want to be or how we want others to view us. I often wondered why my sister would want to play with boring old rag dolls with ripped clothing and useless feet... they couldn’t even stand to defend themselves from my team of G.I. Joe assassins that awaited to shoot the poor fool things. I wondered why she wouldn’t play with my super duper deluxe remote controlled G.I. Joe tank with dual tracks and remote weapon launcher. Truth is men desire power and consciously seek to gain it. Men seek after strength in such an innate way. It’s an intrinsic quality that we have been furnished with from God.
To demonstrate the relevance I call upon the memory of a dear friend, Mr. Peters an entrepreneur, a carpenter. He, a man who would often make insightful jokes about my self-professed carpentry expertise, which I quite honestly had no evidence to that claim in many ways, made clear the importance to sighting or examining the materials you select for any defects before you began any project. A valuable lesson that I acquired all in a matter of seconds. Consider this, when building a house what materials are usually selected? Is it the 2x4’s that are cracked and severely arched? The chief reasons of construction defects can be attributed to the building materials the planner selects. Choosing poor materials can lead to a host of problems. If a roof isn’t built accurately the results can lead to mold or mildew.
With men, our choice is simple, it is with the strongest. We lift weights, run track, and play sports to display and substantiate our own strength, exhibiting our pursuit of it and endeavoring to gain hold of it. In the very same way we seek after woman, (aren’t we predictable) we want nothing short of a strong woman. A Christian man desires a strong Christian woman. There is something about strength that intrigues men even the strength found in woman.
One aspect of their strength that I am reminded of is their selectiveness, a quality that demonstrates wisdom and strength. Woman, they have a single egg each month while men have over 40 million sperm in a single ejaculation; a little under twice the population of Iraq. Biologically they are careful and exacting while men sometimes seem to be the opposite.
It’s no wonder that wisdom in the book of Proverbs is referred to as she. The biblical record places emphasis not on the superficial physical strength of men but on the internal strength of wisdom.
This article aptly describes the different strengths unique to the two genders. The strengh of a man's devotion combined with the strength of a woman's wisdom - with God in the center - is such a power thing. No wonder the devil hates marraige so much. Brilliantly written Eddie.
ReplyDeleteWow Eddie, this is deep! Its amazing how the mind thinks and how God allows us to understand certain aspects of our lives. It is not until we fully understand that we are really able to accept and really appreciate each other and our differences.
ReplyDeleteWe were wonderfully made....a man and a woman together (and like Tessa said, with God in the center) can accomplish great things, once we use our differences as a compliment instead of a power tool! :) Thanks for sharing this blog!
Great Job and continue to do well!
Awesome, Eddie, A man who finds a wife finds a good thing, and favor from God. love it. God is Good. A woman of God is very strong, loving and much understanding....
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job, keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteEddie, very articulately written! I also appreciate your personal illustrations you incorporated into your blog. Even though men and women are completely opposite both genders complement each other and this is how God designed us to be. With God by our sides we can't lose!
ReplyDeleteIts amazing how men and women are so different, yet they compliment each other so well. If only our differences were valued more...life could be so much better.
